BPR (Biocide Product Regulations)

The Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, Regulation (EU) 528/2012) concerns the placing on the market and use of biocidal products, which are used to protect humans, animals, materials or articles against harmful organisms like pests or bacteria, by the action of the active substances contained in the biocidal product. This regulation aims to improve the functioning of the biocidal products market in the EU, while ensuring a high level of protection for humans and the environment.

BRC (British Retail Consortium)

The British Retail Consortium (or BRC) is a trade association in the United Kingdom. They represent all forms of retailers from small, independently owned stores to big chain stores and department stores. It represents 80% of retail trade in the UK by turnover. BRC produces a number of standards; for example: BRC Global Standard for Food Safety which provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operational controls for these criteria in the food and food ingredient manufacturing, processing and packing industry.

Bright Beer Tank (BBT)

Buffering

Stabilising the pH value of a solution.

Buffing

Often referred to using a rotary floor machine with a soft pad or bonnet to increase the shine level of a floor. A spray floor maintainer chemical with cleaner and polish is used to aid the process.

Burst Rinsing

Refers to the process of turning the CIP feed to a vessel on and then off. This can ensure that cleaning fluids do not build up as a pool in the bottom of a vessel (pooling) but are scavenged away.
