This week, Kersia UK were delighted to welcome 17 Reaseheath College students and tutors to our Head Office in Bury. These students are Eden Dairy Technologists, currently studying an Advanced Apprenticeship and Foundation Degree in Science at University Centre Reaseheath. Their visit was an opportunity to complement their studies with hands-on training, learning, and knowledge-sharing from our dairy and CIP experts at Kersia UK.
The Kersia team—Sarah West, Paul Bagshaw, and Steve Ackers—delivered insightful presentations covering key industry topics, including:
In addition to these theoretical sessions, students participated in a practical demonstration of a rinse recovery CIP system in our wet test area. Various chemistry demonstrations also showcased how different detergents react with different soiling types typically encountered in dairy processing environments.
It was a fantastic day of collaboration and learning. The students were highly engaged, interactive, and eager to deepen their understanding of food safety and hygiene in the dairy sector. We look forward to organising follow-up sessions in the near future to continue supporting learning and development.
Richard Fine, Kersia Sales Director, reflected on the visit:
“Collaboration is key to strengthening food safety in the dairy industry. Michael Bennett, Processing Halls Manager at Reaseheath College, also expressed his appreciation:
“Firstly, can I express my thanks again to everyone for their support with the session. It really is a massive help to hear from the experts and be able to see the chemistry side of things with our own eyes—the CIP rig is great and really makes it easy to follow. Thanks again for the support.”
At Kersia UK, we are proud to play an active role in educating and inspiring the next generation of dairy professionals.
